In the Abkhazian village of Khuap, seventeen-year-old Amra dreams of becoming an actress and breaking free from rigid family traditions. Her mother, however, insists on a “proper” career and an early marriage. Amra has two older sisters, each carrying her own secrets, hopes, and unfulfilled dreams. Gradually, Amra realizes that to change her own destiny, she must first help change the lives of her family. She comes up with a daring plan — to speed things up or even run away in search of true freedom.
