On the evening of December 29, a serious road accident occurred on the A94 motorway near Munich-Riem. A 29-year-old man driving a Mercedes toward Passau lost control of his vehicle, according to authorities.
The car first struck a roadside barrier and then collided with two trees. One tree was completely uprooted and the engine block was torn from the vehicle due to the force of the impact. The Mercedes ended up heavily damaged and lying on its side in a roadside ditch.
Bystanders, including an off-duty paramedic, immediately provided first aid and secured the accident scene until emergency services arrived.
Firefighters, paramedics and police personnel worked to illuminate the scene and establish fire safety. The driver, who suffered serious injuries, was transported to a Munich hospital by ambulance accompanied by an emergency doctor.
Police continue investigating the circumstances and cause of the crash. The A94 was temporarily closed before being partially reopened.
